Vikki Zhang

Visual Artist, born in Huai'an.
Lives and works in Shanghai.

 

Vikki Zhang is a Chinese artist, illustrator, and owner of designer brand NIANYI. Winner of 16th CACC, 13th National Exhibition of Fine Art China. She works on children’s books, packaging design, advertising, fashion, and film art. She held her solo exhibitions in New York, Shanghai, Beijing 798, and Foshan.

 

She studied traditional Chinese painting when she was a child, and that experience had a fundamental influence on her future artworks. She came to New York to pursue her MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay at the School of Visual Arts (2016 - 2018). Her BFA was in Digital Game Design at the Communication University of China (2012 - 2016).

She graduated in 2018 and began building her creative career in New York, at then same time, setting up NIANY with her partner in 2018. In 2022, She moved to Shanghai and opened Red Box Illustration Studio, working on branding, packaging, fashion, book covers, children’ books, and toy designs.
